NFS, Cannot Mount

Hi,
While trying to mount an NFS share, I get:
darkstar:/media # mount 192.168.0.1:/home/maxtor asus/
nfs server reported tcp not available, falling back to udp

and then nothing, the console just hangs and all remains unmounted.

My exports file is the following:
[root@asus nfs]$ cat /etc/exports
/home/maxtor 192.168.0.53(rw,no_root_squash)

The ip of the client linux box ends with 53.

the hosts allow permits all IPs for portmap.

exportfs says:
[root@asus nfs]$ exportfs
/home/maxtor 192.168.0.53

Any ideas?

hosts.allow on the server needs to include portmap AND nfsd (AFAIK)
You might also want to allow localhost so you can try a test mount on the server itself.

Thanks, that helped, I didn't think it was necessary to add it to hosts.allow
