Hi there.
I have 2 firewall boxes that each have 3 boxes behind them. Each firewall is NFS mounted to the 3 boxes behind it as well as to the other firewall box. The scenario looks like this:
1--A--B--C
|
2--D--E--F
1 can see A, B, C and 2. But not D, E or F.
2 can see D, E, F and 1. But not A, B, or C.
The exports and hosts files all look fine, but I can't figure this one out. Any ideas? All boxes are Slackware 8.
To see an NFS filesystem, you need to mount it as part of your own filesystem.
eg
1 will have A B & C as different mounted directories, /mnt/A, /mnt/B & /mnt/C, & 2 mounted as /mnt/2
2 will have /mnt/D, /mnt/E & /mnt/F & 1 mounted as /mnt/1
A B & C see 1 as /mnt/1
D E & F see 2 as /mnt/2
A B & C will then see D E &F as /mnt/1/mnt/D or E or F (if you are mounting on / directory)
D E & F will then see A B & C as /mnt/2/mnt/A or B or C
Hi Peter, first off.. thanks for the help. After reading some howtos on the subject, I had already added entries to the exports and hosts files on all machines to allow the 2 firewall machines access to the rest. I'll have another go at it, thanks again. Will let you know what happened.
