Question Newbie: NIC driver issue

I've got a Linux machine with 2 Nics, one on the Motherboard and one PCI, both Intel Pro 100. The PCI card works the on board one doesn't. I either want want to disable the onboard card and add another or fix the driver. Can somebody advice on best way to achieve this

Thanks

GC
