Newbie Networking Question

Okay, well I'm not new to Linux at all, but I've never tried to do anything with networking before. I've got an Ubuntu computer and a Win XP computer connected to the internet through the same router. I need to get about 5gb of files from the Linux box to the XP machine. I have no idea how to even begin. Any help would be great!

You'll need to use Samba. I am sure Ubuntu has Samba installed by default. There are many howto's on Samba. You need to configure the shares and passwords. Have never used it as I don't have any M$ systems running. Remember Ubuntu is Debian based so if they don't have any info then look at debian based howto's
