New to Linux, want to share between two seperate networks.

Hello, I'm in the process of DL'ing redhat 9.0 atm. So to say I'm a linux noob is a understatement and I have several questions.

What I want to do is share between the 2 different networks in my house. I have a small win2k network connected to a cable/dsl router->cable modem & my RM has a small win2k/xp network->cable/dsl router->dsl modem. Between both networks we have several hundred gigs of mp3, movies, etc that we want to be able to access.

After reading several doc's I'm pretty sure I can set up a old amd 500 I have to act as a router between both networks. What I want to do is plug both c/d routers into a pair of nics in the linux box. My concern is this, the other network is shared between my 2 rm's, one of whom is a HUGE p2p freak (hence our hundreds of gigs of media). I want to be able to share files with the 2nd network, but I do not want the 2nd network to be able to access my internet connection. His uploads would kill my connection and I'd really like to avoid dealing with the RIAA cause he was sharing the latest boy-band or some crap.
Will a standard redhat distro be able to prevent that or will I need a 3rd party program?

I'm guessing that I can set up both nics in the box to pull dhcp info from the c/d routers for each network? Also, would a "server package" be the best for me or should I go for a "custom package"?

One last question, will I need to install samba? I will not be using the linux box for anything other then as a router. Will the 2 windows networks be able to see each other without it?

Thank you in advance!

Why not just hook up the two router with a link Cable using the routers uplink port?

Should be able to configure the routers so you can't use his isp and he can't use yours

Or leave it be and shotgun the two

Cause they are really cheap routers. I can set it up so that both modems work, but neither network can see each other or I can set it up so both networks can communicate, but they both share just one modem. I can not get them to do both.
