Networking questions : Setting up domains/vhosts/subdomains/IPs etc.
Hello.
I have a red hat 9 server at home, and I would like to improve it ( for now all theres running is psybnc, eggdrops and CS server ).
My idea is to register a domain name and host it, also create a mail server, vhosts for IRC, etc.
When I register the domain, it asks for 2 or more DNS servers. ( And I think they dont want IPs ). I have only 1 IP ( the one from my ISP ) - 217.79.38.168 and have resolved it to kaliman.homelinux.net ( free @ dyndns.org ).
What should I write for my DNS servers ? Can I create 2 DNS servers on 1 IP ?
Also, Ive talked with my ISP and they said for 1 IP they can resolve only 1 host.I can buy other IPs for 3 $ per month If I remember right.
Apart from the DNS question, I want after that to create vhosts and subdomains. do I need other IPs for that ? What files should I edit to configure them ( I aint at home to work with X ) ?
I think thats for now, peace
