Networking linux and XP peer to peer?

Hi. I have just started to use Linux, and now that the shock of change from windows to linux is over, I would like to try to connect my linux machine to the peer to peer network running in my home. I have at this time two XP units and a 98 on the network but can not get the windows units to see the linux system and visa versa.

Thanks for your time.

What have you done to get them to "see" each other?

Have you look at and configured Samba?

Netizen. Thanks for the links, and no Samba has not been set up - this shows how new this all is.
Thanks for your time.

Hey no prob. i'm sure Samba is already installed. You just would need to edit smb.conf and then start the service.

Oh, BTW. Welcome to LQ!
