Networked computer can't see page served from other Networked computer

I've just finished my first network. :) I've got my Windows computer (10.0.0.2) hooked to my Linux computer (10.0.0.1) through a broadband router (no broadband modem yet; I need an adaper). I can ping from one to the other and vice versa. However, I run Apache on Linux and I can't access my webpage from Windows. I type http://10.0.0.1 into a web browser on Linux, and it works, but I type the same thing into IE on Windows, and it times out. I can see there is a little network traffic, so I know the network works, so I think I've misconfigured Apache.

So, my question is how to you get Apache to serve webpages to other computers?

most broadband routers don't allow connections to external IPs from within your internal network.

back before i built a linux router, i had a plain linksys router and about 6 internal clients. whenever i typed in my website address (which i hosted) from within my network, it wouldn't go through.... but from outside my network it worked fine.

you might wanna look through your router's manual and see if there's anyway to work around this... i just did by building my own router.

Apparently, I can connect to the other computer if I can ping it. Right? Also, on the box it explicitly says "Create Your Own Ethernet Network."

Also, what kind of connection do you have so you can run a website from your home computer? I have been thinking about doing that but can't figure out a way to get a fast line without paying an arm and a leg.

And another thing, I went to your website.... I think someone just defaced it.... Or was it supposed to be just one page of hacker stuff?
