Hello All,

Can anyone recommend a good package for monitoring traffic on a network. I run an RM Connect 2.4 network which seems to have bottle necks and I would like to carry out some diagnostics.

This network runs two protocols , TCP/IP and NetBEUI ( I now this will have some slowing effect), but this is how RM have designed there network.

Any suggestions would be greatfully recieved.

if you are running linux ( Highly recommended ) i would suggest ethereal a nice neat little package capturing program, this could show you what you bottel neck could be by displaying all the daily junk that goes over a network.

but as a sysadmin exposed to RM stuff on a nearly daily basis i would say your bottel neck IS the RM software an over priced peice of poo that comes free with winblows anyway!

any who this is a linux forum not a windows one so lets end it there, if your after more network utils point your ( linux ) browser at freshmeat and/or sourceforge
