Using the Linux Tools will give YOU more information to work with. "modprobe", "lspci", "lsmod", "ethtool", "miitool", "ifconfig -a", and "ifconfig". Also "hw info --netcard" and "/usr/sbin/hwinfo --netcard". "sudo/sbin/lspci -v", for YOUR NIC interface. Then try output from "cat/etc/resolv.conf" and "netstat -r". Try "dhclient eth0" and "route -n". This output will help determine whats working and whats missing.
