network problum with windows2000

Hi all,

I am getting a very funny error in my windows2000 system, my all windows 2000 and xp and win98 systems i am able to connect to my linux server but in only one system i am not able to connect to linux server, it is having windows2000 prof., it is giving error ie "the specified user does not exist" whil trying to join the linux domain. anyone can help me out this.

it sounds like the machine account is not being recognized go to the linux box delete the passwd entry your Win2k Box and start allover again with this P/C. Question does your Linux box set up machine accounts on the fly or do you enter each one by hand ?
