Network manager does not set hostname received from DHCP server

Hi,

My RHEL server do not set hostname which is provided by dhcp server. It still uses the first one I got when I have configured this linux. Problem does not show up if I use ifup/down interface. What could be the reason of such behavior?
I know that hostname is stored in /etc/sysconfig/network, but it should be updated when new name comes from dhcp, right?

Evidently not.

From "man dhcpd.conf"
Quote:

It should be noted here that most DHCP clients completely ignore the
host-name option sent by the DHCP server, and there is no way to
configure them not to do this. So you generally have a choice of
either not having any hostname to client IP address mapping that the
client will recognize, or doing DNS updates. It is beyond the
scope of this document to describe how to make this determination.
