Network goes inactive...

I just downloaded the Linux version of Yahoo Messenger. It installs and seems to run pretty good. I noticed though that after an idle time period I get a message saying that I needed to log back in because my connection was dropped. I thought it was a bug in the beta version I was running but I found that my wireless network card (on eth1) starts blinking after about 5 minutes of idle time. That usually means that the link was lost. If I move the mouse, the link light goes back on steady and my network seems to work again. Is there a setting that causes the network to go idle after a period of time? Thanks in advance.

I'm running RedHat 8, Kernel version 2.4.18-18.8.0, PCMCIA version: kernel-pcmcia-cs-3.1.31-9.

Jeff.

Were you able to resolve the above issue?

I have a similar problem. Whenever the server goes into the suspend state (due to apm), all the network connections to the server are lost.
