network gets disconnected regularly

Hello everyone,

This is some sort of strange issue I am facing from yesterday. I have a RHEL 5.2 server installed on ESXi server and everything was working fine untill today.

within the linux box I am able to ping outside network as well as internet but from my windows or any other machine which is in the same network shows request timed out when I ping that linux machine

For eg: 192.168.0.100 is my linux box and is able to ping all the machines in network continuously

but the same if I ping from my windows machine whose IP is 192.168.0.80
it gets disconnected regularly and shows request timed out

Once I do
Code:
#service network restart
of ifdowneth0 and ifup eth0
windows starts pinging but again after few minutes gets disconnected

iptables and selinux both are disabled

is this issue somewhere related to vmware or linux ??
