Hi,..

Is there solution (in SuSE or RH) for network with 2 computer
via Laplink-cable?

For example Interlnk / Intersvr in MS-DOS or
Direct Cable in older Windows are sometimes
quite nice things....

Does anyone know similar programs for Linux?
Graphical or text-based?

There is a suse package called plip that should do what you want. I have no experience with it, but it appears to be the one that is recommended by them.

Scripts to set up your IP over parallel cable connection
PLIP is a kernel module which allows IP connections over a parallel nullmodem (aka Laplink/Interlink) cable. So, it's some sort of poor man's NIC replacement. Expect to get something like 30kB/s to 600kB/s at a very high system load, with plip. You need to have an IRQ for your parallel port. This package provides some scripts to have this configured automatically. It provides the parport setup, the interface config and the routes. It optionally sets a default route on one host ("client") and enables masquerading on the other ("server").
