Hi,
I'm quite new to linux and has just installed Redhat 9 on my box. I have problems getting my network card (eth0) started when booting. It fails and tells me to check the cable. I use dhcp to get the ip since i haven't got static ip.
After linux has booted i can start the network manually by using "dhclient eth0".
Can someone please help me to get it to start when i boot. I would like to be able to reboot the box remote and that wouldn't be a good idea if the network isn't getting back up after reboot...
The network card is a Surecom EP-320X-S and in the hardware-browser there is this information (which seems correct):
Code:
SURECOM EP-320X-S 100/10M Ethernet PCI Adapter
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deviceinformation:
By: MYSON Technology Inc.
Driver: fealnx
Device: /dev/eth
The content of /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0:
Code:
DEVICE=eth0
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
And the result of a ifconfig eth0 after i have started the network:
Code:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:02:44:3D:87:E0
inet addr:10.10.103.90 Bcast:10.10.103.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

Thank you very much in advance
Kind regards
