Network configuring tool for debian

Hai,

Is there any simple text based network configuration tool for debian? I tried installin net config; but it is throwing some dependency errors... ie it requires some lower version of some libraries etc... Please help... I don't want any gtk based tools ...

how about vim, nano, or pico ?

man interfaces does a great job of outlining how to configure a network interface in Debian. or the network configuration docs.. http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/re...tml#s-net-high

I don't really see what a curses based utility would do for you that you can't easily edit directly in the /etc/network/interfaces and related files.
