Network Card uninstallation

Hi everyone,

I have changed my network card on Mandrake 8.0 and installed a new one (Realtek). Now when the system starts it try to mount both the new and old one. I run netconf and all what I was able to do was uncheck the enable on the device. But how can I remove it totally from the system???

thanks a lot for the help.

I usually do this, in netconf remove all the adaptor information for the card. Then power down. Remove the network card. Run harddrake. Then power down and insert the card and power up. Run harddrake again if it wasn't detected on boot up. Then configure with netconf. I find that with Hardrake you need to remove the card and boot once with out it, otherwise it still has interfaces for cards that aren't present in the system.
