I know this has been asked before, and i copied down all the information. But, the reason i am asking it again, is because this is my first time using Linux, and would probably need someone to hold my hand through the process...lol

Ok, i have a DLink 538TX NIC, and i use a Linksys Router. In Windows, when I use the network card, i have to set the link speed to "10 Full Duplex Mode".

Now, i am new to Linux and am using Mandrake 10.0

I was wondering how i would go abouts, changing the link speed in Mandrake.

start the terminal program
login as root by typing

su - don't forget the minus sign

and type

ethtool -s eth0 speed 10 duplex full
