Network bridge
I've got two eth adapters, each connected to another network. I don't know what (or where) I need to configure to bridge the two network connections (in wingoz it's a matter of point'n'click, but I don't trust that thing too much).
What do I need to set up to bridge the two connections? Or, another question... How can I be seen as part of both networks, when the connection is not bridged? (I don't think i can run 2 samba servers, plus it wouldn't be a solution) |
Have you looked at: <http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/BRIDGE-STP-HOWTO/>
You can probably ignore the bits about spanning trees. Hope this helps! |
thx for the link, kbcnetau.
however i cant seem to be able to get it to work. i am trying bridge the NIC's that connect to the internet. after adding a new bridge and adding all the ethn's to the bridge, everytime i type "ifconfig bridge up" my comp gets slower and slower and eventually freezes. i'm using slackware 10 kernel 2.6.7 i have 4 eth's 3 connecting to internet, the other one will be used for lan later. any help would be appreciated |
