I am trying to use an old PC as a thin client, using the Linux Terminal Server Project software at
www.lstp.org.
The setup of the server seems to go fine. Setting up the client is the problem.
I downloaded a ROM image from
www.rom-o-matic.net for my network card (SiS900), wrote it to floppy and booted. It boots from the floppy no problem, identifies both card and network speed and then tries to get a DHCP address.
At this point it says "UDP Checksum Error" and repeats this message every 10 seconds or so.
To rule out hardware & configuration problems, I've booted the same server from Damn Small Linux and it picks up the DHCP address straight away. I've also tried using an older ROM version, a different SiS driver and a different PC (with the same type of network card) all without success (same error every time).
Any ideas?
Iain.
