Network Binding

OK I have 2 network cards in my Mandrake 8.2 Box and I want to use it as a router. As it is a file server I want the 10Mbit to the cable connection and the 100Mbit to the LAN. MY question is can I change it to that eth1 which is the 10Mbit card becomes eth0 and eth0 becomes eth1 Is it possible and if so how

look it /etc/modules.conf

you should see something like:

alias eth0 83960
alias eth1 tulip

(the things that come after ethx are driver names, so their probably different than the ones in the example)

anyway, you should just be able to change eth0 to eth1, and eth1 to eth0.

hope this works out.
