network between open suse & XP


hello
I have two computers
one of them use Opensuse11
other use WindowsXP
ofcourse I use OPENSUSE11
can I connect with XP??
and HOW??

It depends what do you want to do.. You can use rdesktop to take over win desktop from linux PC. You can install and setup samba server to share your stuff over the network or browse shared folders from win machine with samba client...

Alright,
Just have a look at
http://www.swerdna.net.au/linhowtolanprimer.html
which is quite nice and elementary tutorial for opensuse, that will guide you through setting up samba server/client on your linux box and help you to configure windows workstation.
I hope it will help you..

It depends what did you put in your smb.conf file. If you have [homes] section shared that means that your /home/your_username is shared over the network and you should be able to access it from you win box by accessing \\your_server_name_or_ip\your_username. Obviously you can create directory for sharing e.g /public and place it in smb.conf. You can share whatever you want or need...
