Angry netscape navigator cannot find server

i have managed to compile and load the modules needed for the PCTEL HSP56 modem for RH linux 7.0 (2.2.16-22 kernel version) and can even connect using kppp. no problem with the IP addresses. the ISP and client addresses are ok. i can telnet to my ISP. i can ping my ISP. but whenever i try clicking a link or typing a url it only shows a finding Hosts message for about 30 seconds and then promptly announces that it cannot find the server.

damn thing is getting on my nerves ...

anybody got a clue ...

check your /etc/resolv.conf and see if there are any nameservers listed. if not add your ISP nameservers in that file
