Netgear GA311 not at gigabit speeds
My kernal version is 2.6.32.10-90.fc12.i686.PAE
Im running Fedora 12. It auto-detected the card, but it's only operating at 100mb/s. It's connected to a gigabit switch. The driver auto-installed for the card is r8169. How do i get it up to the speed is should be at? Its kinda why i bought it... Any help would be appreciated, thanks. EDIT: I returned the card and ordered an Intel I69-6010. It got incredible reviews with linux. Keeping my fingers crossed. |
Did you tried to check cable and all the other things. Because very often the connection isn't well and that means 1Gbit isn't possible.

The connection was good. I read up on it some more after i posted this and i guess it has something to do with the realtek chip on the card and the driver fedora auto assigned to it wasnt right. Instead of hunting for a driver that doesnt exist i just returned the card and ordered one online that looks very promising.
