netconfig not working


Hello, sir,
Just wanted to know,y netconfig command is not networking , I m using linux 6
In terminal it says: bash: netconfig: command not found.

Please give me the solutions to this problem and also the reason

You need root privileges to run this command. Depending on the distro you are running, either su to root, and provide the root password you set up during installation, or sudo and provide the passwoard. Then 'netconfig' will start the curses based tool.

I have no idea what 'linux 6' is. Is this some distro? Please clarify.

Welcome to LinuxQuestions

As stated we need to know the distribution and version you are running. The most likely reason netconfig no longer works is because it has been replaced with another utility or not installed by default. If your running RHEL 6 then the command is system-config-network.
