Netboot questions
hi there!
I am trying to set my PC to serve as a boot server for a Powerbook G4 (NewWorld) with only a hdd in it. I am running a Slackware derivate linux (Vector 5.1.SOHO) with a shipped DNSMasq, and i installed a tftp-hda. Now i try to netboot and then install a gentoo linux but something is wrong. questions are: 1. do i need a bootp server too or the above mentioned servers are OK.? 2. at gentoo howto i hit a note to insert in /etc/conf.d/in.tftpd file: INTFTPD_PATH="/tftpboot" INTFTPD_OPTS="-s -v -l ${INTFTPD_PATH}" Under Vector i see nothing like /etc/conf.d/in.tftpd file, none of the tftpd files is config. 3. Vector has inetd, not xinetd. do i have to insert the options -s -v -l in inetd or should i start xinetd? |
