Need VPN Suggestion
I have a RH9.0 Linux machine running as my router for my home network. My cousin is setting up a Linux machine of his own (either RH or SuSE, not sure which), and it's going to be his router likewise. So, we have been talking about setting up a P2P VPN between the two of us. We've been looking around, and we've seen information about how we can implement a VPN such that each of us is on a different subnet (i.e. 192.168.0.x and 192.168.1.x). However, what we want to do is to have the two of us share a subnet (i.e. 192.168.1.0-127 and 192.168.1.128-255). Is there a way to do this? My cousin said that he's looking around for an implementation in which the routers are running in promiscuous mode on their internal IPs so that all packets they receive, broadcasts and otherwise, are forwarded to the other network through the VPN. Since each of us has switches, this should not be an issue.
Any thoughts?
