Need help with basic sendmail configuration

Hi,

I need some help setting up sendmail for a simple 2 computer network for school. I've checked my book "Linux Administration Handbook" but the topic on E-mail is very long winded and confusing.

Does anyone know of any sites I can use to get help or maybe you guys can tell me how I woud go about doing it.

My current network configuration is as follows:
SUSE Linux 9.1
2 computers connected via cross over cable
Computer A is the master DNS server for zone sd.ca
Computer B is the slave DNS and mail server running sendmail
Using Netscape 7.2 as mail client

My teacher told me that all I have to do is allow remote connections to the mail server but I've allowed that and I still can't connect. I've given the imap and pop accounts passwords in /etc/shadow.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Exactly how did you configure sendmail to allow remote connections? By editing the DAEMON_OPTIONS line in sendmail.mc?

I've given the imap and pop accounts passwords in /etc/shadow.

The IMAP and POP protocols have nothing todo with sendmail. Exactly what is NOT working?
