I need help in configuring my ADSL D-Link 500T modem to share Internet with two computers, one with my favourite Slackware Linux, other with windows xp. The thing is that I need to have permanent connection on both of them, even if one computer is not on. But this must be done with some speed limits, for example, 50 kb/s for Slackware and 15 kb/s for windows.
How can I connect all this stuff (modem and two computers) with each other and configure the connection on Slackware?
I'm not a newbie in computer and Linux, but this is the first time I have to deal with networking. :-)

My way on this is to use a LinkSys BEFSR41 DSL router. You login to your DLS modem with IT so it stays on at all times. With 4 RJ-45 100mb connections works very well. Price about $40 US.
