need help conecting a win98 laptop without a network connection to sue linux 9.3
 
i have a parallel cable to connect them together. so i can get on the internet with the laptop :newbie:

What are the capabilities of this laptop. IMHO a network adapter would be a lot easier

A regular parallel cable will not work.

I agree that the parallel port connection will be more work than, e.g., a network connection, I, too, have an older laptop for which it is quite difficult to find suitable hardward expansions. In you situation, if you can't find a suitable ethernet adapter, I'd opt for the serial port. You can even set up your W98 system as a X-terminal and tunnel X over ssh for remote graphical connection to the Linux system. X-Deep-32 is a freely distributed Windoze X-server.
