Smile Need Assis with Internet/Packet Forwarding

HI,

I am presently attempting to set up a local lan, using Linux 9.0 server as my router.. I have eth0 configured towards my ISP, and eth1 configured (DHCPD Server) towards my local lan.. I am connecting to eth1(Linux Server) with Windows 2000 workstation.. I can ping eth 1 from the windows box, but cannot ping eth0 (ISP Side of Linux Server) from the windows box.. I also cannot access Internet from the windows box, however I am able to access the internet from the Linux Server...I see routing statements in my Table that appear to refelect the correct gateways and routes.. My question is how do I get the Linux Box to route the traffic between eth1 and eth0 and enable internet access from the local lan (Windows Box).

Thanks

echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

I suggest having a good read of this iptables tutorial..
and also using a more secure operating system. There are many security bugs in RH9 that aren't updated.
