Need a software to act as a NAS (Network Access Server) in Linux

Hi,
Imagine that you a RADIUS and a dial in service like PPTP on your Linux machine. Everything works very well and client can connect to your network and use network resources but you don't have enough control over them cause there isn't a real NAS server to send control packets to the clients.

"Packet of Disconnect" is one of this control packets which is used to disconnect a specific client. In order to send such packets, there must be a NAS to get the packet and deliver it to the remote client.

I am using freeRADIUS and L2TP/IPSec to allow users to connect. I don't have a Cisco router to act as a NAS so I have to find a replacement for it.

Do you know any software that can be used as a replacement? Something to simulate a standalone NAS like a Cisco router.

Thanks in advance,

Moby

Do you mean RAS (remote access service) rather than NAS (Network attached storage)?

RAS is what I am looking for. NAS or RAS, both are the same.

Ehrm...no, RAS is Remote Access Server, NAS is either Network Attached Storage or Network Access Server.
RAS refers more to dial-up connectivity...and is not very easy to set up

Just my two cents...
