Unhappy Named hangs

Hi all,

Currently I am experiencing the following difficulties with named.
I have installed redhat 9.0 (kernel 2.4.20-20.9smp), and configured
named on the server. The daemon starts fine using the following command
"service named start", but after a while it stops responding to queries.
/var/log/messages does not contain any errors regarding named. Also the
only way to restart the named daemon is to issue kill -9 named_pid,
because service named stop hangs.

How can this problem be rectified, and thanks in advance.

It may be a bug. Have you tried to reinstall it or upgrade it to a newer version? Consider saving your configs before doing that.

Marcelo.
