nagios monitoring gmail - host down

I added up a nagios check to ping gmail (216.239.63.107) to see if the host is up or down. When I click on the "Service status" for ping in nagios it says OK but the Host "gmail" is red and shows down. It says

PING CRITICAL - Packet loss = 0%, RTA = 195.05 ms

Here's my ping command for gmail -

check_command check_ping!300.0,20%!400.0,60%

And here's the command definition -

define command{
command_name check_ping
command_line $USER1$/check_ping -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -w $ARG1$ -c $ARG2$ -p 5
}

If you view "View Alert History For This Host" what does it say?

Hmm. Old version BTW: 2.4 is available.
What happens if you run this plugin command from the cli a good few times?

Thanks for your quick response. If I run from CLI it says ping OK. The ping command status is OK, the host command status is red.

Here's the ping command status -

PING OK - Packet loss = 0%, RTA = 215.27 ms

Here's the host command status -

PING CRITICAL - Packet loss = 0%, RTA = 193.69 ms

The ping command status is OK, the host command status is red.
Yeah, you mentioned that. Few things. Upgrade to -current? If you > (host|service) detail > hostname > Re-schedule the next check, does it turn back to green? What's the check command for this host? (view config > hosts > under "Host Check Command") Is it ping (with other values)?
