Unhappy My vm-pop3d won't start ( vm-pop3d dead but subsys locked)

It just won't start...

tried:
Code:
service vm-pop3d stop
rm -f /var/lock/subsys/vm-pop3d
service vm-pop3d start

service vm-pop3d status
Gives me:
vm-pop3d dead but subsys locked

and also my admin email is the only one working.

anyone had this problem before (or know how to fix it?)

Peace,

EDIT: xinet was taking port 110 , killall cleared it -- now its working
