My problem yet not solved(REVISED)

Internet on LAN

Dear Guys,
I have installed linux 7.2, I m facing some difficulty to connect internet on LAN. My cable operator is using Microsoft WinSock Proxy Version 2.0 in windows 2000 for internet sharing.

PROBLEM WITH NETSCAPE
When I put server IP 192.168.0.1 port 80 in proxy option, and put "WWW.YAHOO.COM" in add bar. A window appear "PROXY AUTHENTICATION REQUIRED FOR UNIDENTIFIED PROXY SERVER AT 192.168.0.1:80" I filled both user name & password which I usally use in win98 and xp. As I click OK, browser status bar was showing continuesly with blinking "CONNECTING 192.168.0.1:80 WAITING FOR REPLY" "CONNECTING WAITING FOR REPLY" but did not get any data from web site.

The same problem I faced in Linux 7.3.

Plz note I have installed Microsoft proxy client both in win98 and xp.

If u have any solution of the above plz reply as soon as possible.
regards,
Salim

OK,
It seems you missed the this first time arounnd
the ip address of the proxy in NS needs to be that of the
proxy server it seft NOT your IP address , and SERVER NAME
portion of PROXY setting has to be the NAME of the PROXY
SERVER provided to you by your ISP?

In this case the fact you are running Linux has nothing todo
with it? It is a Netscape setting issue, and the settings would be the same on Windows and even IE.

Quick question WHY haven't you called you ISP for this information? Or checked their website for this information?
