A server for? Could you specify what you exactly want to do?

You will probably need to set up Apache. Read some docs at apache.org, it won't hurt.

Nope, to install/run apache, all you have to do is setup your httpd.conf file, then you will have to write a webpage (if you need help look for quanta at www.freshmeat.net it's webdesign creation software). And finally start apache, but the documentation at www.apache.org will cover all of that for you

Cool

If you want to use something like http://www.mydomain.org you need to sort out DNS, but with just apache you can use your ip. You may need to use a port other than 80 to get past an ISP block (if legal to do so).
