Smile MX-16 Linux no wifi connection

I just installed the new MX-16 Linux after using ubuntu and Linux Mint Cinnamon enjoyed them all but heard such great praise for MX16 just had to try. Installed on older Dell Inspiron and am not sure how to configure the wifi. My home wifi was not picked up by this linux distro after I added wifi to network? Looking simplest solution. Thanks to all responding members.
I have been out of the loop using linux for a while.

I'm not running MX-16 so I won't be much help there.

This link may help. If not look in the MX Forum.

jremsen,

I am assuming that you used an ethernet cable to connect your laptop initially?

Normally MX-16 identifies the wireless card before you do the actual installation and gives you the opportunity to enter the network name and wifi password. Then the actual installation is carried out using the wifi connection.

This does not appear to have happened in this case.

Connect via an ethernet cable, open a Terminal and then type these commands one at a time and pressing the Enter key after each one.

Code:
ifconfig

sudo lshw -C network

sudo rfkill list
Please send us the output from those 3 commands highlighted inside CODE (#) tags (see above the text box, second from right).
