Multipe NIC's; Assign designated NIC to an application

Not sure of the terminology but is there a way of kinda reverse bonding my NIC's? Instead of having both interfaces work together to increase throughput, I want to have them serve different applications independently.

Example: 1. wlan0 - browse the web via firefox | 2. eth0 - download/upload torrents via transmission

I'm at a loss on this and haven't found any similar threads to guide me. Is it even possible? Ofcoarse it is, This is Linux right!?. . .

Have a look at policy-based routing, I haven't used it myself but it should be what you want.

Looks like this can do the trick, I just have to read up a little more to fully understand the configuration.

Now it brings up a question of the type of packets sent from the different applications running. What if the two programs have the same packet type? I guess the next step would be determinig which type of traffic with maybe Wireshark or something.
