Angry MRTG configured to serve multiple clients

hi,

hav been banging my head on this for a while.

i recently got hold of mrtg and i needed it to monitor bandwidth for my various clients i give internet acess to.

I finally got MRTG to work on a test system (not on my router-gateway) and tried it and it worked well showing the upload and download stats but that was after battling with SNMP.

but now i wud want to get a seperate system that can collect bandwidth report from other boxes, radios, gateways on my network and report them on it. I shud be able to access these reports from anywhere even on the internet.

i have a linuxbox with ip 192.168.0.1(LAN) with a public ip on the another card

and have clients using NAT with ips' 192.168.0.5-192.168.0.10 going thru the linuxbox

i did this to do bandwidth management, cache dns and firewall

some of the clients use SNMP capable wireless radios for their connections to the linixbox

can LAMP help?

thx

Just create a seperate .cfg file for each device you want to collect data from. Then have a main page you designed to link to each devices index.html from the .cfg you specified.

IE: I have 6 clients I collect data from.

I thus have 6 different .cfg files under /etc/mrtg/clients/

I run indexmaker 6 different times and run my collection scripts every minutes through cron.

Then I have 1 web page using a virtual server within Apache to specify http://<hostname>/mrtg2/index.html

I created the index.html with links to each of my devices seperate index.html

Make sense?
