mp3 jukebox server - serverside not streaming

Hey.

I'm trying to set up my linux box as an MP3 server which I can access via HTTP and then queue tunes.

I have one installed called streamsicle. HOwever, this is streaming only.

I have speakers on the server and want the tunes to play on ther server, not the client.

Why? Because I'm in a flat of students and the server is in the hall.

Does anyone have any suggestions about this? I'm running Apache2.

Thanks
Hamish

just connect to the server ON the server... it can presumably be both a client and a server at the same time.

you mean SSH in and play tunes? I already do that with mplayer. But it needs to a system which my flatmates can use.

It steams it as an m3u file, for winamp.

you're saying that it uses apache? so there's a web interface to make requests and then multiple clients can connect to listen to it? so while everyone can request on a webpage, just have a player playing that stream on the server too..

or get a decent server....
