Moving AD to LDAP

I will discuss the possibility of moving from AD to LDAP.
Is there a way of feeding the logins/passwords from one to the other instead of inserting manualy each user ?
I need Samba because of the printers.
Anyone can list the advantages of this move ? To try to convince them here.
Thanks,

My FEDORA version is 23
It behaviored better than UBUNTU here. And w/ SAMBA, can find the printers and other servers, I can map using mount cmd .
I didn't install LDAP yet.

The way I'm trying to convince is:
If we have to integrate, need LDAP, so why don't have only Ldap ?

SAMBA and CUPS are running.

Are you comfortable with LDAP? It is lightweight and fast but some find it to be annoying to work with.

Yes,I am confortable with, I worked since was called NIS and NIS+.
I will try to convince them.
I need to find the better way to migrate from one to another.
