Question Mounted Samba via fstab, need help "tweaking" it

Okay the added lines to my Linux machines fstab files are

//server.domain.net/stuff1 /mnt/stuff1 smbfs defaults 0 0
//server.domain.net/mythingys /mnt/thingys smbfs defaults 0 0

Okay they mount 90% of the time, but it takes ages during boot (although my server is 24/7).

I want to get rid of defaults, and mount the drives as read/write/exec. At the server end, these mounts do not require a passwd, but I have a feeling that the delay is caused by the server waiting for a password.

Is there a way for these drives to be automatically mounted after a user logs in using the user id and passwd from the signin (like windows does)?

Regards

Mick

//machine/directory /machine/directory smb username=domain\user,password=secret,uid=1000 0 0

or rc.local

mount -t smbfs -o uid=1000,username='domain\username',password=secret '\\machine\directory' /machine/directory

Okay ... I like

mount -t smbfs -o uid=1000,username='domain\username',password=secret '\\machine\directory' /machine/directory

where's .rc.local? It looks like the place where I supposed to be entering the options I've been typing into fstab...

Do I delete mt fstab entries?

it's /etc/rc.local it's much nicer to keep an entry in fstab though, more standard

Any help ... please (yes, it's pathetic, I need a little step by step)
