I'm new to this forum and would like to compliment the people who collaborate to find excellent resolutions.

Now to business. I'm running RH7.0 on a DELL PowerEgde 300 system. I've successfully mounted an NFS filesystem but denied permission to view the contents of the file (using ls). I've checked the permission on the exporting system and read-write permissions are granted for the DELL system. What am I missing?

Other system configurations: Firewall is Iridium and PortSentry is/was running.

Thanks

I figured out what I needed to change to get the permissions I want. The server exporting the NFS filesystem is an HP N4000. I had to change the HP's 'root allowed' machine pool to include the DELL's (internal IP address). Once re-exported and remounted, I can read/write til my hearts content.
