mount.cifs error(2) on gentoo (no error on debian)

Hi there!

I would like to ask you for help. I have some trouble with debugging my gentoo system while trying to mount to win 2008 shared folder.

There is a command I use:
Code:
mount.cifs -o user=myusername,domain=MYDOMAIN //function/path/to/source/ /my/mountpoint/
The command works on debian system, but failed on gentoo system:
Code:
mount error(2): No such file or directory
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)
Can anyone help my how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks a lot!
jiri

Well, the fun stops here.

I reinstalled gentoo to debian 7:

Code:
$ uname-a
$Linux kakashi 3.2.0-4-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 3.2.46-1+deb7u1 i686 GNU/Linux
$
$mount.cifs --version
$mount.cifs version: 5.5
when I captured SMB protocol by wireshark, I recognized that SMB failed by "Error: STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND". Before this reply, there were "QUERY_PATH_INFO, Query File All Info (263)" for "File Name: \\IP_ADD\FOLDER\IP_ADD".

Of course, there is no directory with the name as IP_ADD.

On my computer with old debian 6 and mount.cifs version 4.5 everything works fine. However my old computer is dying and I really need to connect myself to work.. Oh.. in the work, there is win server 2008 if it helps.

Thanks for your replies!
jiri
