More RTL8139 problems :(

I've looked around the internet and found about six thousand posts about my net cards (Dlink DFE530TX+'s) and problems in Linux. Presently I'm trying to make an lrp box for my friend, I've tried a few different distros and packages, and the farthest I got was on the dachstein-v1.0.2-1680 distrobution.

I boot up lrp just fine, configure things so that pci-scan.o (a dependency for rtl8139.o) is installed before rtl8139.o. Both netcards are the same, and no other modules are needed. I copy the two modules into the proper folder and see if I am able to insmod them by hand before backing up modules. Pci-scan.o insmod's fine, but upon trying rtl8139.o, the command line says "The device or resource is busy." or something much like that. I tried backing the modules section up anyways, and rebooting, but to no avail, lsmoding upon reboot displays everything scheduled in the modules script except the rtl8139.o module. I retry insmoding by hand with the same results.

Is this the wrong module or do I need to fix an conflict somewhere? I got the module from the LEAF project site when I got the dachstein distro, so I figure that isnt it. Thanks in advance, help is greatly appreciated!

I caught another post in the linux hardware forum about the 530tx+, but my problem is a tad more specific, and I'm not using an intel board.
EDIT: Caught still more that suggested I use rtl8139too module if its a kernel higher than 2.2x, but I'm not sure where to get that (don't have an avalable linux box to compile it on, and lrp doesnt have room for gcc and I didn't see it in the modules folder on the ftp where I got my Dachstein distro). Saw some others that say that 530tx (nonplus models) use via-rhine.o, I know for a fact that they are tx pluses, but I'll give that a shot. I'll try switching what pci slots they are in as well.
