I try to execute modprobe from the command line, and this is the error message that I get. " modprobe: can't locate module eth1"
eth1 is my wireless card.

There must be a kernel module for your card, e.g "modprobe modulename", perhaps you've done that. e.g, if you have say a RTL8139 ethernet card, the module required would be 8139too, "insmod 8139too" or "modprobe 8139too". If the module doesn't exist, you would need to configure it in the kernel, build and install it.
Sid.
