modprobe ath_pci fails with new kernel
I have a Fedora Core 6 machine and I use the madwifi drivers for the Atheros wireless card in the laptop.
Whenever I update the kernel I just do a "modprobe ath_pci" and my wireless card works just fine again. It's been that way for many iterations of kernel version. Until now.. I recently updated the kernel to 2.6.22.7-57 from 2.6.20-1.2962 and now when I do my modprobe I get: FATAL: Module ath_pci not found Booting the old kernel then everything is fine so there's something changed in moving from the 2.6.20 kernel to the 2.6.22. I am using madwifi 0.9.3-2 which I think is the latest version. Any ideas where I should start looking? Thanks folks...........Chris |
The problem is that you need modules to go with your new kernel. Perhaps in the past, this was taken care of automatically. Anyway, try re-installing the madwifi modules.
