Modem Not Working!!! Help
 

pls help,
having a weird prob with my modem,
set it up thru netconf, /dev/ttyS0, correct line speed etc,
did everything as usual,
i have a lan card as well..
but when i connect, it goes half-way thru the dial up seq/sound and it says it's not connected, but it's still dialling... and when it stops... there's no connection, it sounds like it's connected, but there's no transfer of data and it just closes the connection immediately on my end...
i dunno what the prob is... could it be my lan card.. ?? pls help!!! :S
